Tim O’Shei is an entertainment journalist, author and teacher who specializes in writing books and running workshops for kids who want to be famous.

The most recent of his 60 books, Live! Starring… You!, puts the reader in the place of a teen star and shows you what it’s really like to be a celebrity. To write it, he interviewed dozens of celebrities, including many from preteen- and teen-friendly networks like Disney, Nickelodeon and ABC Family.

Like the book, Tim’s Live! Starring… You! workshops give you the inside scoop on fame. He teaches you how people become famous, how they survive in the spotlight, and strategies you can use to get started today.

“As a teacher and an author, I’ve met thousands of kids,” says Tim, who regularly visits schools as a guest author. “In every place I visit, hundreds of kids raise their hand when I ask, ‘Who wants to be famous?’ These workshops are a chance to show them what it’s really like – and what it truly takes.”

Tim has interviewed hundreds of celebrities in entertainment, sports and politics. Some of the highlights include Christopher Reeve, Michael J. Fox, Kiefer Sutherland, Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, Tim Russert, Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James.

In recent months, Tim has teamed on workshops with performers from shows like the Golden Globe-winning “Glee,” “Camp Rock” and Emmy-award winners “Aqua Kids” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Now, Live! Starring… You! is teaming with Join the Workshop to bring Hollywood to different cities across the country and help kids learn the truth about fame – and how to make it work for them.

Tim, 33, is married with three children. He has an undergraduate degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in creative studies. He is formerly an elementary school teacher and now teaches at the high school and college levels.
